$ 5,000 of NET income for CERB changed to $ 5,000 of Gross income

 On February 09, 2021 the Government of Canada announced the following relief measures:

CERB requirement to have $ 5,000 NET income in 2019 changed to $ 5,000 GROSS income

1.       The self - employed whose GROSS income in 2019 was $ 5,000 CERB now are eligible for CERB.

2.       The Prime Minister said that sell - employed who voluntarily repaid the CREB, will received it back any prepaid amount.

3.       For the individuals who did not applied for the CERB before, but under this condition are eligible, CAN NOT apply for the CREB.

 Interest relief on taxes owing for 2020.

If the individual received in 2020 the following support CERB, CESB, CRB, CRCB, CRSB, EI benefits, or similar provincial emergency benefits and has the taxable income for 2020 of $ 75,000 or less, that individual will get the interest relief on tax owing until April 30, 2020. You do not need to apply for the interest relief, it will be applied automatically if you meet these conditions.

The deadline to file the tax return for 2020 is April 30, 2021.
