On January 11, 2021,the eligibility rules for the Canada Recovery Sickness Benefit, the Canada Recovery Caregiving Benefit or the Canada Recovery Benefit have been changed.
The international travelers who are required to quarantine upon their return to Canada will not be eligible to receive CRSB, CRCB, or CRB anymore.
The Government of Canada says that the changes will be in effect retroactively on January 3, 2021.
CRA will update the application process for all three recovery benefits on January 18, 2020 where “applicants will need to indicate whether they were self-isolating or in quarantine due to international travel” says CRA.
